open the trunk, peel back the carpet on the left side of it, stick your hand back where the gas cap is and turn the little black piece left or right while pulling towards you and the door should open, mine has been broken for months now and many other members experience the same problem
take in into your nearest dealer for warrenty work then since this is covered under the basic warrenty. I think the bumper to bumper or else you will have to pay a load if you leave this like it is for too long
How much is the part(the cable and such) to replace it yourself?
My car has the same problem but we have a $100 deductible on all warranty work (I should have read the fine print before signing). If the part is cheaper than $100 dollars, I will just fix it myself.
Has anyone replaced theirs on their own before?

After a bit of searching, I found the part on Honda Automotive parts .com
Its under Trunk Lid and its part # 24 in the illustration
44 dollars and it should be a moderately easy DIY task for the average backyard mechanic....

what happened with mine is the stupid guy who pumped my gas bent the latch on the door so i pushed the thing to pop the door and someone with a plastic puddy knife pry it open and then bent the latch back.
if you have to replace the cable it's really easy, i did it myself.
you have to pull back the trunk lining, take out the back seat bench (one bolt to hold it on in my sedan), pull up some trim along the door edges (held on by clips), and disassemble the unit where the release handle is.
get a haynes manual and it will show you the basics, the rest is just common sense.

Make sure the spring that pops the door open isn't out of place. You can check this if someone pulls the gas door release while someone else pushes/pulls on the gas door. If the spring is out of place the door should open easily.
