I haven't been to Thursday Nights @ Amp in a while, I think it's still Hip-Hop/Techno, I'm not sure.
For CivicRidaz:
All the clubs I mentioned are in Ybor, all on 7th Ave so it should be easy to find. Just look for the crowds for the best clubs.
Try to park in the Parking garage on 4th Ave(?) (go early, but not too early), best place to park and your car doesn't get pissed on by some drunk idiot.
Amphitheater is Hip-Hop/Techno Mix club, huge club, with a lot of lights and smoke and a lot of hot chicks, a good mix

Prana is a big club that has different levels with different music on each level, Hip-Hop/Latin/Reggaeton, it's a little more upscale.
Skye is on 15th St. and is a pretty good club, More Techno than Hip-Hop though, but they have hot girls that dance in cages, and it's a pretty big club do theres a lot of room.
Those are about the only clubs that are worth checking out IMO, there's other one's out there also, but depends on what you like. Full Moon Saloon has Hip-Hop, but that place can get a little scary at times (for me that is).
St. Pete has a lot to do, but not as much as Tampa, you can go to the beach, Clearwater Beach is the best for hot chicks and quality. Fort De Soto is a really good beach, but more for chilling out and getting away from the crowds, more of a secluded area.
There's a lot of bars in Downtown St. Pete around Baywalk 2nd Ave S, but not really fun if you can't get in, but still a cool area to go walk around and check it out. A LOT CLEANER than Ybor definately, and the people and atmosphere are better.
Have fun man, and stay away from the outskirts of Ybor (scary ****), and southside St. Pete.
