Lyrics out of my Sub

I managed to get my JBL amp installed and my Sub hooked up. The problem is, no matter what I set the crossover to, I get lyrics coming out of the sub, alongwith bass. But the bass is not that hard ditting, it is probably cuz the sub has been repaired. Why are there lyrics coming out of the sub, is it time to get a new sub perhaps or is something in my setup that needs to be changed.

I have a Alpine 9847 HU, with the subwoofer on and to full volume.
The SUB is an older MTX 6000 Thunder I think

you probably have the crossover switch on your amp set to high pass instead of low pass, if that is not the case your switch or internal crossover might be fawked.

I am using the JBL GTO 75.2 ii, and it looks as if it is bridged correctly. The only possiblity would be that the internal crossover might be messed, eventhough this is a brand new AMP? I guess I can just go back to Bestbuy and get them to exchange just the amp, for my piece of mind. It cant be the sub, right? This is a crossover issue?

Yes sounds like a crossover issue to me. No it can't be the sub. The sub is just like any other speaker. It will produce sounds that it is given.

Did you make sure that you are using the correct set of pre outs. Did you make sure you are using the "Sub" pre outs, and not the "rear" pre outs???
