I am in need of someone local to Winter Haven, FL to put on my turbo kit. I have everything needed. I will give you $100 to put it on for me and an additional $50 for anything misc. items (hoses, teflon tape, etc). Let me know if you can help me out, ANYONE THAT HAS DONE THIS BEFORE!!! I need it to be reliable!!! Thanks.

$100 for a 12+ hour job? No offense, but I don't think you'd even find illegals who'd do that much work for that cheap, especially since it requires more than 1 person, and if you want it done reliably, you'll probably, at a minimum, need a welder.

I've done 3 or 4 stereo system installs for friends for free, but only cause I enjoy doing it. Its good experience. I'm actually doing an entire stereo system this coming weekend in a Chrysler. Some time in the next month a subwoofer system in a Cougar. Will be fun.
On the other hand, doing a turbo install is a lot of work, and I don't know anyone willing to do it for $100 anywhere.

1. You're doing it for your friends, I do friend jobs all the time.... so long as I get the help I need in return, you're not doing them for people you don't know.
2. You're doing a stereo, where if something goes wrong, the stereo doesn't work, but the car does (presumably, unless you find a way to blow up the alternator).
3. Like you said, stereos, while involved, don't require the all-at-once labor intensive approach that a turbo install does. You can do a HU, then walk away, then do speakers and leave again, etc... once you start a turbo, you can't stop until its done, the car doesn't work until its done.... not to mention if something goes wrong, even at no fault of your own... somehow it'll fall on you cuz you put it in. The liability of putting your motor into someone elses hand is worth more than 100 bucks in and of itself to whoever installs it.... its why doctor's insurance is so much.... screwing up is big time trouble.

I agree 100% with what you say. I am just saying I am the kind of person who does stuff for friends, but I can't picture myself, or anyone else, doing a turbo install for $100. Its just too little.

Go to the Florida section, a bunch of us have experience with boost, and if we get 5 people together we can knock it out in a day. I don't know about money, but most of us are generous.
Edit: Also, what kit is it, and give us the rundown of parts so we can see what the deal is

It's funny how many people admit they know nothing, even when he said before that he wants someone who knows what their doing.
Reguardless of money, did everyone miss this part?

As long as you're not concerned with the inherant quality and/or usability of said turbo install, we've got a deal.

One of my mechanic friends did a turbo install for another friend of ours and charged him $500. And they both went to middle school together. It really is that much of a pain in the ***. Tapping oil and vacuum lines, tapping sensors for gauges, possibly welding a BOV onto a charge pipe, possibly re-routing an exhaust... and to top it off... on whose lift? Just those things alone takes more than a few hours of work and generally mechanics charge something like $40+/hr for moonlight work.
Try offering quite a bit more.
