tranny slippage possible solution
tranny slippage possible solution
My vic's tranny went out (so i thought) in february of this year and ended up getting a 5th gen vic. anywayz, did some research with a friend for a while and worked on the tranny. SHE LIVES!
Drives perfectly now, no slippage whatsoever! Anywayz, yeah i know the title seems a bit misleading, but before I post up what i did, I wanna know what YOU guys put in ur tranny (ie honda atf or some other BS atf) when doing the flush.

ya all he did was change the fluid. if the trans is slipping, you cant really fix it. damage to the plates has already happened. you can put in additives, but that wont fix it either. so no there is no solution.

let me guess... did you put saw dust into your tranny??? i know some people do that as an oldschool trick, but i dont know if theres any valid proof of that working.

My tranny JUST went (less than 150 miles on the new one). I changed the tranny fluid at 50,000 miles and 70,000 miles since it was getting rough at 50k.
It finally went at 72,209 miles. No fluid change is gunna help slipping, unless you have a serious leak and then thats a much bigger problem.
Once the clutch packs start to slip, and they willl since they are so damn cheap, its time to rebuild or replace. Thank god for warranties.

ya i saw one on ebay, it has honda sticker and all, for our specific year civic. they said it can be used to try and clean a messed up tranny, but i believe by now the internal filter is already clogged so it wont help.
