M3 signal wiring

I just got my m3 w/ LED signal today I'm trying to find a how to or any advice that i can. I don't want to be spending too much time on getting the wiring to the mirror. If any of you have done this or know where i can get some tips/instructions, it would be greatly appreciated...peace

not many members have messed with their mirrors. i think you should just take off yours first and see how the wires are set up and compare them with the M3 mirrors. take plenty of pics when ur done

i already did, the power wire and everything is fine, i need to get the turn signals for the mirror wired though, i was wondering if i should tap into the turn signal wire at the lamp and then run it back or what? and not to mention, how the *feh* do i run it to the mirrors(through the door)

Sampsonite:

I would just run a wire from your blinkers to the mirrors,
I'm not sure exactly which wire it is (in the front anyways), there are 3 wires, one should be negative or ground, the other one should be (+12v) when you turn your parking lights on, and the other is (+12v) when you turn your blinker on.
I haven't taken a look at it recently but there is a place to stick wires into the door right above or right below the door hinge. I would just run the wire through there.

good luck!

I took a look at my door before for the same reason. There is a rubber boot that goes from the inside car paneling that leads to the door(that way, any wires being ran through won't get squeezed I guess)..I think the boot is there for the speaker wires, I'm not sure though.

What color are the led's on the mirror?..can you change the bulbs in case they go out, and can you change the color???..thanx

i posted the same question less then an hour ago. I found the Signal power wire at the cluster. It is the GReen red and Green Yellow. By wiring the signal wire there, it will keepyour engine bay clean. and there is no need to run through your fire wall.
