I've heard everyone talking about connecting power to the antenna booster in our car (yellow & green) wire in the factory harness. The Factory has 14 wires and my Head unit has 12. Could someone tell me what are the 2 extra wires for?? I know about the speaker wires(8wires) the power wire, ground wire, accessory wire, illumination wire, what about the other 2 wires??

your factory harness has 8 speaker wires, power, acc, ground, power antenna, illumination, dimmer.

headunits can have different # of wires, in your case, if you have 12, its 8 speaker wires, power, acc, ground, remote.

when connecting it to your headunit, dont connect the illumination and dimmer wires, and connect the power antenna wire from the factory harness to the remote wire on the headunit.

Thanks for the reply, but what are the colors from the factory harness for the power, accessory, power antenna, illumination and dimmer?? I just want to be sure before i cross-wire anything.

i can get you the colours, but why don't you just get the 10$ harness that plugs in the factory harness and gives you all the right colour that matches the colours on your aftermarket Headunit. it's better to pay that 10$ than chopping your wires. its up to you, let me know if you still want the colours.

i bought the adapter already, but there are 2 extra wires from the factory harness that aren't connected. I just need to know what they are? I just need the color codes for the 5 wires from the factory harness to be quite sure. Thanks

if you bought the adapter already, the 2 wires remaining on that adapter is orange and orange w/with stripe (illumination & dimmer), dont connect those. on the adapter, just match up the colours to your headunit and leave those 2 orange wires unconnected.
