usually they center the steering wheel when they do an alignment. They don't take out the steering column when they do an alignment, all they do is adjust the tie rod ends; something sounds fishy. Most places will only adjust the toe on the vehicle, take it to a place that uses Hunter alignment machines because those use lasers to measure how much it's off.

They dont use lasers, its infared lights. And Hunter Engineering is by far not the best system on the market. They should change the name of the company to Hunter RE-engineering, being they cant come with an alignment machine on thier own with out stealing others companys ideas. ..... Rant /off (BTW i HATE Hunter aligners and have to use one daily )

damn i can tell you hate hunter machines, i just thought hunters were good because they use the infared lights and the mechanic who did my alignment did a good job. What are good machines I can look for?

coats....if they make them.....I wanna say we have a hunter at our place...but its all about the person who uses it...and my man Mike is the best at aligning the cars and fixing the suspensions....come back so tight and even you'd think it came off the assembly line....

You need to remove the steering wheel from the rack and move it over a tooth or two. It should require only a couple of bolts and a good pull. You will need to remove the plastic around the column and it may be best to remove the drivers seat (to allow for more working area). It is really a simple fix. It is easy enough to remove it and put it back on a couple of teeth off.
