Wiring through the door
Wiring through the door
Does anyone know how to get the speaker wires through the door rubber grommet peice. The peice that allows the wires to flow into the door. I find it very very difficult to use a hanger or anything of that sort. Anyone know a trick to this?

i used a house 14 gauge wire (just one of the 3 conducters) cause it has insulation and will not damage the other wires in there, and put some hand lotion on it, worked perfectly, very easy, just need to bend it a little for it to go with the curve
You could use hand lotion and make the wire less prone to cracking, scaly skin and smell good too. Or you could go to Lowes or Home Depot in the elec. dept. where they sell a lube that will dry shortly after use.
I use a straightened out coat hanger wire.
I bend the end, clamping the wire to it.
Then I slowly wiggle it through the door.
You need to feel the wire so it doesn't poke anything.

all the above methods work very well. I like to use a 2 ft zip tie with the locking end cut off, its much easier to work it around obstacles than a metal coat hanger
sounds good guys thanks, now i have a bigger problem.. I locked my keys in my car today because my alarm auto locks after 45 sec and i was washing my car. damn it was such a bummer. but long story short, i picked my door by using a wedge and hanger and i ripped the rubber seal around my door and now i can hear air get into it while driving.. can i get it replaced? will it be expensive?
damn that sucks. http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

when I was doing installs we used a car antenna, we stole off a car in the the neighboring parking lot. it had a rounded end on it so it wouldn't damage anthing like a coat hanger could.
That is two dumb post after another from you, and I don't want to read the your other six. He wants to get speaker wire in the doors. You need to read around and learn a few things before posting again, because.....
