Toyo Proxe 4 vs Nitto Neo Gen
which is a better tire for the track? overall? form the look of the tires the Neo Gen's have more flat curface for grip and look better for the track, but ive heard from everybody that Proxe's are super grippy was well. basically im sick of the crappy Kumho's and no traction at the track or in the rain. So i narrowed it down to these 2 the Proxe 4's are a little more expensive but im willign to spend a bit more because for a set there are with in $30 of each other.
Also 205/40/17 is the size I will be running if it matters. Thought about 215 but to low for that and will rub.

I've heard some say that the toyos are great everywhere, but the nittos are only great in the dry. I have not driven on nittos but I was seriously considering them, till I read up more and got the Toyos.

im running 17's too, what do you launch at cause currently i have absoutly no traction, and if and spin real easy even in first when im just driving and punch it from 4k, even in second I break loose from a punch. But then again im boosted. and do you have to warm the tire up alot for a good launch?

i think the proxes had more grip on the track and in the rain than the neo gens and the proxes were the same size as you're getting. the neo gens were 18's plus i don't know if you care but they were loud

Toyo and Nitto are great tires! Nitto has tires for all dry which this tire is for wet-dry weather. the Proxes are the same as well. what sets the Neo-Gen apart is the anti-camber rubber compound the inner part of the tire is cinsisted of, to lengthen the wear more-evenly with negative cambered cars. the Proxes 4 has a treadwear of about 300, and the Neo-Gen is 280. with the Neo being a assymetrical tire, you will get a better rotation with the life of the tires, as the Proxes are only made for a straight rotation only! but with my GFs Jetta on 19s, cousins Scion TC on 19s, and lastly my other cousin's prelude on 16s, i recommend these tire! great tire for your money. you wont be dissappointed!

I would like to add that I am going to get about 12,000 - 15,000 miles from my proxes 4s, and all of those are hard driven miles. There have been many times where I would get out of my car and run my hand on the tires and have the rubber bead off. Great way to start your morning, with a brisk drive through some desolate valley roads.
