Voted YES, but all the exterior has got to go, back to stock cept some smaller lightweight racing rims, such as a nice set of bronze TE37's against that orange paint... and obviously the system would have to go as well...

and by racing, either of those work. i mean if hes gonna drag or auto cross, that stuffs gonna slow him down

Rep Power: 0 ummm not to burst your little D17 glorified expectations, but whether he's pushing 19 psi on the motor built and whatnot... he's not running 12's on a FWD car with no suspension or tires set up for drag... sorry fella's just not gonna happen... like brads suggested... he'd have to go for a true "race" setup

I was just responding to him when he said the d17 wouldnt contend without a swap.
and I also said "should run", meaning theres other things that could affect his run..ie track conditions, weather, etc.
If everything is good...he will run 12s, no questions about it.

guys when i talk or say stuff... i tend to say it in ways in which people take it to forceful are can't take an opinion... if you can't take my knowledge on the sport or my opinions on somebody elses thoughts then please don't respond... i mean no disrespect to anybody i challenge on these forums, its just my opinion and my experience..
with that being said... our cars weight about 500 LBS more than a common civic hatch even after being gutted to the fullest... on a second note the SOHC 1.7 VTEC motor that we EX owners have in our cars fully built on only 1.7 liters pushing an absurd amount of boost will will definitely run low 13's but like the one gentleman already stated... The car will not be able to run 12's consistently with a FULL RACE setup on that motor... he will fu<k that motor up inside out trying to run 12's more than once on that motor with the amount of boost required to sling him down the strip that fast... who was it on this site, the member from ohio i believe that had a fully built motor as well and pushed it to 19 PSI started frying things and couldn't break the 13.3 barrier i believe... tranny issues i believe was the biggest prob besides the detonation which obviously is the most costly... but again guys... just my .02 don't take it personally

Go racing is the natural progression, I want to have fun with my car now.
As how I'm goin to do it , well I always do things my own way and it works for most of the time and the results are always possitive at the end.
