Looking for a shop

Have an extremely loud clack type sound coming from my block, head was replaced around 15k ago, so I doubt its that... but it might be a valve, or spring making the noise. Just wanted to know of a shop that could diagnose and actually fix this problem, other than the damn dealer.

I checked out the thread above, listing the shops in the south/east bay, but not sure which ones would be able to do the repair work, or if they were just speed shops.

Thanks,
Nettles

Is it consistant and matches when you rev the motor. If so it might be a spun bearing. Either way you will prolly have to pull the motor. If you can do it your self then just take the engine to a builder or take it to like made in japan. Another place may be one of those import engine places which specialize in motor work. Good luck!

You sir were correct. A scratched crank, messed up rod bearing = new motor.

$2650 got me 7k miles motor, new clutch, resurfaced fly wheel, replaced control arm bushings, and piece of mind. No more spirited driving, only MPG from here on out
