OBD2 code: P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold

I had the CEL code: P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold.

I was wondering how do you fix that problem. I have only a turbo downpipe on and no cat if that helps out any.

Do I need one of these to turn off the CEL.

look man i wont be short with you i am really trying to help but you really do NEED to find a emanage certified technician. here is a list of import guys i found in Indiana on hondatech.com so i hope this helps

i know its a big state and they may be kind of far but if you really want to get this done then you know what needs to be done. i also think that you should do some serious research before you buy anymore parts to try to solve the problem. most likely it can be fixed by the tune itself. i definately think you are leaning out for some reason. you may be located in a higher elevation area than the person you bought the kit from which means your not getting the fuel it needs. what EXACTLY is the car doing that it wasnt doing when it was stock. how mch boost do you see on the boost guage and are you running any sort of monitoring tools ie: EGT or WIDEBAND? and you do know that you can also datalog with the emanage. that should really help.

here is a link and number as well straight from the greddy site for a certified distributor i dont know if they install but you may want to check

a wideband is a monitoring tool its not linked into your ecu at all so yes you can take it out and tune your car then put it back in his car. the only problem i forsee is that your stock o2 will not be in the exhaust to tell the ecu what to do. that is unless you weld another bung for the wideband and just plug it with a bolt when your not using it. a wideband isnt goign to fix your problem either. you will still need to make the corrections to the air fuel ratio through the emanage after you get your readings. are you using the pressure sensor for the emanage?? if not i bet that is your problem your car isnt seeing the boost or it is and its tripping out. did you call any of those numbers either maybe you can discuss it with the certified tuner to see if you can make the corrections.

that looks like it but it also look as though it may not be complete look at this pic
now when you referr to the wideband it sounds as though you think if you hook it up it will cure your problems. that is not the case the wideband will tell you your air/fuel ratio and nothing more. you have to physically tune the air/fuel ratio from the emanage yourself to fix the problem. the sensor itself is just a monitoring tool. i know you want to cut costs and you really want to conquer this yourself but is it worth the motor?? you may have a lot more down time and end up costing yourself more money than a tune would cost if soemthing gives. i hope not for your sake. but ill offer all the help i can!!

Im sure it recognizes it because it has greddy on it....umm im not sure what the settings are on it. Are there any e-manage graphs out there that will work for Indiana elevation. That might be a stupid question but hey.

no that is why its called getting it tuned. if there was a map out there for everyone to use for different elevations and climates no one would have to take their car to get tuned
