compressor problem!!!

I was wondering if anybody knows how to check properly if the compressor is working or not. It appears that the compressor starts to kick in but shuts down, I dont know if it is an electrical problem or somerthing. any help would be appreciated.

thanks...

Probably low R134 level kicking out the safety switch. You need a gauge set to check the system.
