Megan upper strut bar rattling

Just installed a Megan upper front strut bar, and my car is rattling everytime I'm not moving.
I had a generic one on before, and there were no problems.
I am thinking that the Megan one is lower, and is vibrating against an engine part.
I'm thinking I should add some washers under the strut bar mounts on the bolts to increase the height of the strut bar.
Not too sure though... any opinions?

Since it happens when you aren't moving why don't you open the hood and find the rattle?

I'm guessing its the intake if you have one.

thanks,
no intake though
i think it's rattling against the part thats above the engine.
what is that... the brake reservoir?
i'm probably going to put in some washers and see what happens

i'd think that adding washers would compromise some of the the rigidness and stability that the strut tower bar provides, because the mounts won't be as securely bolted down to the strut tower.

if it is the brake reservior/master cylinder that is rattling against it, i believe another member mentioned that there is a second mounting point for the reservior located just below the original location that gives enough clearance for the bar.

You can also wrap the reservior is a wrist band and tape the bottom to keep it on if that is what is happening. (That is unless you buy those overpriced reservior wrap things which are basically wrist bands for $40 more)

yeah the generic one had a higher arch to the bar
possibly providing less stability?

so have you looked upder the hood while its idling to see what is rattling.. other than that you wont be able to tell what it is hitting till a month or 2 down the road where you can see wear & tear from the 2 parts rubbing
