Sway bar

Hey all, I need some help. I recently took off my front sway bar to replace it with my new progress front sway bar. We ran into trouble with then end links and were forced to put the oem sway bar back on due to time restraints. Now when im driving there is a popping or cracking noise coming from either the end links or the bushing on the sway bar. Does anyone know what that might be? Also doe anyone know how to get those end link bolts to loosen? thanks

the popping noise, i think, is the endlink moving to its extents. I got a similar sound after I installed my progress front sway bar. i haven't had any problems with it, though.

the endlink bolts are a biotch to get off. hose it down with wd40 and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. wipe it off with a rag and repeat if necessary. then use an alan wrench on the end while you loosen the bolt.

you should consider new/aftermarket endlinks. mine were pretty messed up after i got them off. good luck

rjngo, are you using the stock brackets or polyurethane? Have you checked to make sure you installed it right side up? Doublecheck each end of each endlink. If you're really stuck, post up a picture of the bar as it's installed so people can check.

i used the rsx bushings with stock brackets to hold it. i'm 100% sure i installed it right because if you install it the wrong way - it would fit!

i'll post pics later on

Trust me it'll fit installed upside down...but it'll smack control arm constantly.

is your car lowered, or do you have stock endlinks,
1.) if you lower your car, then the endlinks might hit the piece of metal near the endlink, bend the metal inward, and then try.
2.) you might've broken your stock endlink!
3.) if it's broken but the new Hotchkis endlinks, i got mine yesterday, theyre on stand by for install...

i used r/c car shock oil to get my bolts off for the endlinks, you might need an allen key for the bolt to hold it in place while you unscrew the nut from the threads, the key goes in at the tip of the threaded part, you keep it stationary while you unscrew the bolt, might want to wear gloves.
