Evotion lowering springs on Ebay
Evotion lowering springs on Ebay
I saw these Evotion lowering springs on ebay for a super low price. I did a little research, and found they were made in Germany, and meet up to German industrial standards for springs. They still sell them on some sites for up to $150. So I ordered a set for my 2003 EX for $60 including shipping. I installed the front ones today, and will get the back ones on later this weekend. So far so good. It lowers the car by 1.25 inches, which for me is perfect. Even with just the front springs, the car drives great. The ride is a bit harder than stock, the turning response is improved, and it will pass the wife test. No strange noises, no squeaks, they just work. I used Mex's DIY. Anybody else try them?

I installed a set of these on a friend's 2001 sedan. Definitely a budget brand (Toucan distributes them in the states if I'm not mistaken), especially considering that price, but they've lasted a mildly-driven year with no problems or noises on his car, and they ride pretty nicely.
I finished the rear springs install. The car feels great. No strange noises anywhere, no bangs, squeaks, etc. You feel the road more, and the car has noticeably less lean. It has a tighter feel to it, which I love. The back is a bit lower than the front, but it was that way before the install, and it is not more pronounced than before. Not bad for about $60 which included shipping.

Evotion Lowering Springs after 2 weeks
Here's an update: After extensive test driving, I'm happy with them. They ride well, and are noticeably stiffer than stock. They say you get a 1.25 inch drop, but they settle at 1.5. You can get them on ebay right now. Search for evotion. (3/25/06) I have stock struts, and will stay with them until they either die, or I get a windfall of $. If you're looking for budget lowering, you can do it with these babes for $60. (You'll want a rear camber kit also.) The springs are made in Germany and meet German industrial standards for automotive springs.

2) I've had springs that took almost 4 months to settle. Give it time.

I installed mine over the weekend and so far I've put about 100 miles on them, they feel great.. Noticably stiffer ride, less body roll andincreased steering response. I have Tokico HP struts as well.. will update after I have put more miles on them. so far the drop is about what they advertised 1.25" the gap above both front and rear wheels is about 2 fingers wide..

Yes, I did trim them. 4 months seems like a long time, I drive it 105 miles round trip to work M-F, on for two months now, seems like they would be settled by now. I'm not a suspension guru, so not sure.
well I've had the springs on my car for about 4 weeks now and have put between 3000-3500 miles on them and I'm very pleased with their performance. the ride is still nice and comfortable, the body roll is more subdued, and it looks great.. could be alittle lower but for as much as I drive and where I drive, lower is not an option.. I haven't noticed them settle much, there is still a 2 finger gap in all 4 wheel wells but I have changed out my rims and tires (from 205-40-17 to 205-50-15 ) since I performed the drop..
