Theres a big differance between a check engine light and your maintance req'd light. It means nothing untill you see a check engine light. Also as far as a throttle body messing up valves... Ive never heard something so dumb in my life. no offense to your brother but thats just plain stupid. And if you want to know more about your throttle body and what will eventually happen talk to pm gearbox.

does the car idle a lot higher than normal now?

If not, dont worry about it. If it does, that means that there is a vaccum leak somewhere.

And yea, if you have a very bad vaccum leak, you can burn the valves. But if you had a vaccum leak bad enough to hurt the valves, you would definately know it.

since wer are on the topic. I just put o my friend and it idles at 2100.. I told him to turn the car off, I double checked everything, it is all installed correctly. SoI couldnt figure it out, so I took it off, and put stock on. It works fine..What could cause this? I know it has to be on the bored throttle body or the seal to the intake manifold. Im not to sure its is the seal b/c it works fine with the stock one. Any ideas? I told my friend just to take it to honda and have them put it on, and let them deal with it. BTW the stock is on and hes not driving it around with a bad idle.

you always relearn the idle when swapping the throttle body. after unplugging the battery, you have to let it idle for 10 mins once the car is warmed up. its easier to drive the car first upto temp, then pull the battery for 10 secs, then start the car and let it idle 10 mins. you can't use accessories or press the gas during this time.
