Help pondering mani choice
I am lookin at a few but can't decide between the cast iron hks with a t28 or to dig deeper for the dezod (so i can go bigger with my turbo). How much can i pull outta the t28 on the hks? Looked for info bout this comparison for hours so any help would be great!

you're not really looking at the same thing. The HKS is a T25 footed manifold for a turbo with an internal wastegate, the Dezod one is for an Ext. WG T3. You're have the potential to make more power from the T3, but thats not to say you couldn't pull over 200 from T25 or 28.... the turbo should be good to about 260 maybe a little more.
The HKS one is very OEMish looking. I'm sure there's lots of room for improving it, but cast iron is pretty reliable, strong under hear, and there's no welds to crack.
"Tfnaaf" is putting down about 170 with an HKS and GT28R on an automatic at 7 psi.
I've got basically the same setup in the works but with a 5 speed.... I'm guessing I'll end up similarly if not 5 or 6 more due to the transmission.
Its apples to oranges as far as I'm concerned. The HKS is a simplicity setup, no one's going for big power witha T25. If you want numbers.... get the T3 foot.

You should use the HKS manifold with this turbo
GT3071R-WG Dual BB, 86AR, 90 Trim Turbine
GT3071R-WG Dual BB, 86AR, 90 Trim Turbine
Based upon the same turbo as the HIGH flowing, larger framed GT3071R, but conveniently packaged into the same style turbine housing as the popular GT28Rs/GT2871R turbos. This turbo is uniquely configured with its own turbo wheel trim, turbine A/R, and compressor housing. Unlike, the GT28RS and GT2871R, this turbo now has a much larger compressor housing to support the much higher flowing 71mm compressor wheel. Comes with T25 style inlet flange.
Turbine
-Wheel: 56.5mm w/ 90 trim
-Housing: 0.86 a/r
-Internally Wastegated (No Actuator)

Compressor
-Wheel: 71mm w/ 56 trim
-Housing: .50 a/r

There is OBX el mani off ebay, only $175-200. The best thing about them is they look great and they are cheap! They crack and may not fit, but who cares, it looks great and its cheap.
But all in all, first question that you should answer is the power goal that you are trying to reach on d17.
As far as I'm mentaly set up, I can tell you for mild boost on stock internals go with HKS mani, for high boost take dezod el mani.
Let us know what you want.

There's also the SFP manifold. I don't know why more people don't use their stuff. If you end up going that route, I have a dumptube and a downpipe I'm selling for cheap that will work with that manifold.
As far as that gt30, I'd stay away from it unless I was looking for big numbers. With the .86 ar hotside, it'll take forever to spool. Not the best turbo for the street.

I was being sarcastic jeeez. Is it just me or do you try to tear down what just about EVERYONE says. Anyone with half a clue would have realized that was a joke!

Yes you should have known i was joking hence the smiley face after my text. I know very little and claim to know even less. Unlike some people! But i wont continue with the rant anymore.

What are you planning for engine management and drivetrain upgrades? Do you have any as of yet?? To be honest Id agree with boilermaker on this one. Keep it simple. Not to mention the money you will save buying the HKS/T25 setup you can put towards other upgrades. Its not just about being fast, its about being consistently fast. It takes way more than a turbo and manifold to properly boost a d17. Keep that in mind when you plan out your expenses. Just my opinion though, its your call dude.

We have a D17 SFP manifold in stock if anyone needs one.

i heard from a person who bought it that it was to long or something like that and interfiered witht the A/C and some other part
Look at OBX:

Also take a really look of how long it is:

Now there is a company that llok like it would work. IT looks more equal length but i could be wrong. TSUDO look:

I'm going to go with a HKS manifold and a T28BB w/ internal wastegate.
I just put the OBX and Tsudo manifold just to throw it out there.
I choose to use a T28 instead of T3/T4 just because i'm more of a low end power type of person. When you street race or even race against fast cars you need all the low end you can get. some time the races are just 0-60.
