Turbo Coolent Line Help
right now i have the coolent lines ran where i basically rerouted the coolent to run through the turbo before back to the engine. Ive seen pictures where it looks like the water pump is tapped with a steal braded line. And i went out and looked at the pump and there is a internal thread on the pump where it looks like other people on the site tapped. My question is is this the right place to tap a line? How do you go about tapping it just a regular tap? And where do you have the coolent going back into the engine? I would really like to know how people have their coolent lines ran becasue it looks so much cleaner. Pictures would be a great help if possible.

water cooling is a plus for reliability and life of the turbo but many turbos are non water cooled. This particular turbo on the other hand might have been desinged to be water cooled and might not last as long without it.

You know too much heat is bad for a turbo motor.. this just aids it.

Look at the Throttle body there is a SS line with a red clamp on it. And on the end of the cyl head there is also a SS line with a red clamp. These are 2 seperate lines that run down along the trans and then over and up to the turbo

Just another suggestion, its a relatively blingtastic way of doing it but should be quite effective.... buy 2 greddy (or generic equivelant) water hose sensor housings, and 2 1/8 BSPT to NPT converters and a pair of 1/8NPT to barb or -6 adapters (yes, lots of adapting, but I've never seen a BSPT to AN adapter, NOTE generics may already have the NPT threads, if so, skip the BSPT/NPT converter), and put one in each radiator hose. Just loop the turbo between the radiator.
Coolest possible water in, and you dump the hot stuff right back into the radiator.

With TSI you need to tap into 2 heater core antifreeze lines.
TSI gives you 2 T links and 2 mettal/rubber lines to screw to the turbo.
The pic shows where I had to cut heater lines to use "T" for the turbo. Easy.
