Question about DIY Lower front bumper

I went to Home depot and found the metal screen , but my question is how do you hold it in place on the bumper. Do I have to take the bumper off and appy from the back or what.

Also should I spray something on the metal screen so it will not rust? If so what?

it would be easier to attach w/ the bumper off. you could probly just screw it onto the back of the black plastic grill type thing infront of the radiator, or you could use zip-ties or something similar...i would just screw it. you can also put the screen in front of the black plastic thing...your call.

you should be able to get the mesh/screen grill material in like galvanized finish or something so it wont rust...that would suck if it rusted

ya you should spray it with something. mine didn't rust but it became dull... depending on the car, maybe its better to paint it... i have a black car n would like to keep the shiny silver color so i was thinking of spraying it with clearcoat, not sure on how it'll look tho...

n to attach it, i didn't have enough ***** to cut the black thing so i just put the grill infront of it. n it would be much easier if you removed the bumper. n go ahead n clear your lights if you havn't already. oh n i attached it with a fishing line. i probably tied it 10 times. it held so far so
