Question Air breather filters on intake

`Hey guys /gals....just wondering what the purpose of those air breather filters people put on their intakes instead of the rubber tube ? My tube is slipping off from the engine part, so just wondering if they made a difference ? thanks for lookin

that is a crankcase filter. most intakes use a tube to connect the crankcase to the intake. sometimes oil splatter gets into the tube. most turbo cars use the filters. i think more oil comes out due to the pressure. it shouldnt hurt anything since theres not much pressure on a stock car. if you remember, the stock setup has a tube from instake to crankcase also so it doesnt seem to be a problem.
