yup.... do them at 50k and get good ones, the direct ignition coils don't respond well to cheap plugs. The cheaper plugs have to high of a voltage drop, sorry but you gotta pay for these plugs. I would personally just go with the OEM NGK plugs.

Rep Power: 320 Directly from NGK's website, they are just under $12 a piece. Write down the part number search around (google or ebay) you should be able to find a better price.

You may spend alot on the plugs, but you don't have to worry about wire, so in the end you end paying less. I remember wires from Honda where around $70, I got them for $45, but still costly. So I guess it's a trade off, expensive wires or expensive plugs...
EDIT*** Those plugs are the OEM for the HX too, not just the EX.

Rep Power: 454 I have the iridium IX and I paid just over $30 for them and they are good plugs. Have had them on for over 50K now and are still looking like new plugs. But then again, I havent had any engine problems (knock on wood).

The difference is that the ones you bought probably have a copper core with an iridium tip. The $16 per piece ones are striaght platinum. Copper has a high voltage drop when current is passed through it, that's why you see copper plugs with these huge electrodes compared to platinum, the larger electrode is tring to cominsate (the larger the cross section of the wire, the lower the resistance). But even thought they are fat wired, they still have to much of a resistance.
Now if you plugs work fine, then great, we have a cheap replacement, otherwise you need to change you plugs. Take one out and post pic and tell us how many miles you have on it, I'm interested to see if the copper core plugs work.

i wonder when will poeple who dislike iridium plugs will comment on this post....
these peeps that im talking about...they think iridium plugs = POS. they're basically marketing gimmick.....finally, they will suggest you to use OEM platinum plugs...

Rep Power: 321 the windows break because of the sound frequency that is makes when a spark plug ceramic hits the glass...its like fingernails on a chalk board if its at a right frequency than it'll make the glass break...well its hard to compair those...how about those glass cutters they work off the same style

Rep Power: 813 use oem. hehe. i've always been told that. my motor won't take iridium more than 15k and then starts to run bad. Stock is fine and same performance. A spark plug can't give better performance. Oh and guess what actually platinum owns iridium why? cause the ground electrode is nickel. Ground electrode on double platinum is platinum hence the name.

Rep Power: 321 yup gearbox is right...but some spark plugs differ...my friend has denso iridium race plugs and they are full iridium with no other metals to interfere...but they are about 40 bucks each...he gave me 4 for free a while ago cuz he gets them for free from his sponsors for his 85 drag celica supra

Rep Power: 337 ok. my plugs are not cheap. they work great, no problems scince 57k when i bought the car. now the car almost has 70k on it. so iridiums are NOT POS. go look on websites. the iridiums i have are expensive. i don't know why they were cheap. i don't care. i get better gas mileage from the new plugs.

yea from my experiences the DENSO ik20's are really good...even better for turbo cars
