Intake Performance (Gas Mileage)
I'm new to the forum but I've got a pretty good amount of automotive experience. Just wanted to get some other opinions......some of you guys seem like you know what you're talking about.
For day to day driving performance (under 3k rpm) and for better gas mileage which would be most beneficial for my '03 Civic Lx?
K&N OEM replacement air filter or the K&N Typhoon Intake? I'm not really concerned about HP increase as much.....if I was I wouldn't be driving a civic....I'd be driving my '66 mustang. lol But gas prices deemed otherwise. I am basically looking to get the best gas mileage possible out of my civic and if I get some extra HP that's fine too. I also plan on using Synthetics throughout the drivetrain. Do those NGK: iridum plugs really help much? I am a huge supporter of K&N so it's either the intake system or just the OEM replacement by them.
Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

K&N typhoon intake!!!!!!!! I have it, its awesome. Here is the dyno showing more low end. And if you drive slow, you'll still get good gas mileage (same or better than before. Its a great low end intake for power. Plugs leave them stock. If you really want better mileage, check out the products in my sig from lubecontrol. I gained around 4mpg from just using fp60 in the gas.
Before/after typhoon intake on 2k2 civic ex automatic trans.

I have the OEM replacement filter does the same as stock one did just better response. Just get some fuel cleaner thingy from a local auto shop and add it when ur gas light comes on and drive for a little bit in a parking lot in or around a gas station (or just get a small jug of fuel). Celaning ur fuel system will let it run more efficiently.

Please search. The search button at the top, if used, will bring up any thread about any question you have. there are several threads about which intakes are the best, here is one about the K&N typhoon intake http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...typhoon+intake

There are tons more, we also have a fuel, oil and cleaner maintenence thread which has a great thread on how to improve fuel mileage here it is
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...ve+gas+mileage
SO there shouldnt be a need to start a new thread on how to improve fuel mileage or which intake filter or kit is better.
