I have a d17y7 non vtec. I am wondering what the best option is for the most power. I have about 4 grand to spend on making it a twelve second car. What do yall thnk? Should I go turbo, nitrous, or just build the motor. Idunno. I takled to my local shop about it and they said for 4 grand, all they can get out of the d17 is 200hp. so what do yall thank? you said in your previous post that you are going to college.....
did they teach you how to READ? I mean, you are in a forced induction forum. all you have to do is READ to get all of the information you need. READing is a very good skill, especially when you are on a forum that requires you to READ the threads. If you READ any of the threads below yours, you may have the answer to your question.
Hint: the key is reading!

Cam, build, turbo, 13 second car, Close to 12 if you learn how to shift. COuld prob pull 12's if you get tranny gears made up, but thats ****'n expensive.

4k will get you in the 14s, maybe 13s. good luck.
Go with a dezod turbo kit which will be about $4000 if not more. later do an EX head swap. but the turbo kit with larger injectors and e-manage should get you started. but yeah use the search and READ ALOT MORE!!!

try a b18c1 swap with a turbo. My friend ran 13 psi on stock GSR block and ran a 12.8, then did a little work to it upped it to 16psi and hit 11.9's. just make sure use slicks.
Get a good clutch, blockguard, new axels, fuel management and u should see low 13's at least.
also, biggest gain = learn to drive.
Your y7 will never hit 12's on 4grand. U might go mid 13's if ur lucky with 200whp turbo setup, but it wont be reliable.
