Driving without Healights Legal or Not?

Hey guys/ladies,

Well my lights still haven't gotten back from the guy thats fixing my retrofit. So therefore I have no headlights on my car. I'm waiting for the lights so I can go get new tires and alignment, but since its taken soo long I think I'm going to do without and just go to the shop. My question is, I'm putting my bumper back on but there are no headlight housings. Will I get pulled over and handed a ticket? Keep in mind I'll be only driving during the day and using hand singals.

it all depends on the cop really. but i wouldnt think it would be legal. you could always say ur going to get the headlights if they pulled u over

I wouldn't think so. If you only drive during the say should be fine.

i bet that looks funny. i wouldnt think that you would get in trouble. You might get pulled over but probably wont get a ticket. If you think a cop if following you, make a turn and use your hand signal so they know you know what your doing.

the only thing that can hurt you is no front signal (unless you have sidemarker). Most people on the road don't know what hand signals are and all the thugs have their arms out the window these days anyway. So its more of a safety issue like if you get ready to turn, thecar behind will crash into you.

well actually regardless if he uses hand signals or not, he should have taillights, so the signal should work for the rear. no one will crash into him.

wow okay that was dumb of me. yea then shouldn't have a problem. Front signal isn't a big deal most of the time.

if a cop is having a bad day, im sure he or she would pull you and question you about it.

but other than that, the only reason i could think of is why it is illegal is the reflectors.
and defining "daytime" could be a matter of things. it rains during day, daytime could be foggy/cloudy, no sun, etc. i know in CA, if your wipers are on, your headlights should be as well (thats a law).
