Car accident question... NEED ADVICE QUICKLY!!!
hey guys. i was hoping someone might be able to clarify something for me. last night my friends and i were headed to the club when my friend got in a car accident. the road where it happened makes you either go straight or bear right. my friend beared right but turned late. her rear bumper was scratched but hit a mercedes front right bumper. the chick in the mercedes was being a b*tch and said that my friend needs to pay for the repair of the fender through an authorized benz dealer and that she has to pay for a rental car.
in this particular scenario wouldnt the chick in the benz be at fault because she was following to closely? or would my friend be at fault because she turned to late? i should also mention that my friend has no insurance. who is really at fault here? if my friend is at fault then she has to pay for the repairs to the fender, but if the other chick is at fault then she should pay for the repairs to the bumper. can anyone clear this up for me so she and i care take care of this quickly?

i'm confused where the damage occurred. Usually if you hit someone from behind, you're at fault. But your friend is also in trouble for driving without insurance.
sounds like the girl in the mercedes is the one at fault. BUT. if the damage is extensive, you should have called the cops and filed a report, and then gone through insurance. but...she doesn't have insurance. so. because there's no proof (i.e. a police report) there's nothing to stop the girl in the mercedes from reporting to her insurance and possibly twisting **** and sticking it to your friend. which is why you should drive with insurance so that people can't try and jerk you.
but all is not lost. if the damage is minor (and it sounds like it might be), you don't really need a police report (a cop told me once in a minor fender bender it would be better to not file a report), and should probably just try to settle somehow. if it's just paint damage, a body shop should be able to do it pretty quickly and cheaply.

haha the person behind is always responable for controling their vehical in any condition, but uh as for the no insurance, shes ****ed if the police report goes in, but yea uh mercedes bitch is out of luck

It doesnt make any sense what happened. Was the mercedes behind you all and hit you when you slowed down to turn or what?

hmm.. i tried to make sense of the scenario, but i guess you're not being clear enough.
this is where i tried to go with it: your friend turned late. lady in benz thought you were going straight, so sped up to turn (as if she were in a hurry, and by the car in front of her going straight, let her 'pass'). now this is the part where it didnt work. your friend turned right, and the lady in the benz clipped your friend's bumper. the part that doesnt work is, in that scenario, the lady's front left side of her bumper would be messed up, not the right.
the only way it would work is if your friend turned late and the lady realized this, so sped up, then clipped your friend's bumper, thus f*cking up her own car. it'd be her fault in that scenario..
anyways, since your friend has no insurance, that'd be a problem.. driving without insurance
