No Variable-intermittent wipers on LX?
No Variable-intermittent wipers on LX?
According to this article,2006 Civic
you will have to get an EX in order to get variable intermittent wipers, as is the case with the 7th gens.
I was hoping that for the 8th the LX would have V-I wipers since I have an LX now and the 3 speed ones are inadequate as far as I'm concerned. I really don't care about a moonroof or most of the other EX features, and if the Corolla LE, Focus SE, and the base Neon can have V-I wipers, I am perplexed as to why Honda didn't include the feature with the Civic LX. Or at least offer it as part of an option package.
Hopefully for the '07s Honda will change its tune. At least it has broken the spell for me wanting an 8th gen for now.

There is a running post on this site on this matter, You can add an EX wiper switch and add the variable delay or add an external potentiometer. The trouble with external pot is finding the correct value 25k ohms is too short of delay (IMO) and 50k ohms causes problems if turned above 3/4.
On most models the EX switch is plug and play and is probably the best choice.

The best price I found for the control was $50. Specify EX trim when searching.
Also, I'am not sure what options are avail if these are coupes we are talking about. I only know it will work on most sedans.
Do the EX coupes have the variable intermittent options ??

06 civic I guess the LX Civic in Canada is something like the US Ex. with the moonroof, etc. (I checked the Honda Canada site). Then there is a middle Civic called SE or something that is kind of like the US LX but a little different. The point is, don't you think the middle Civic, where it is supposed to be becoming a sophisticated compact car, should have variable intermittent wipers, at least at the middle trim level?
