I am wondering if there is a huge difference between the injen cold air intake and the injen short ram or for that matter if i really need to spend an extra 100 dollars for a intake. Finally is there a difference in the sound i canexpect from a cold air intake on a civic to a short ram intake??? all the info possible would be appreciated guys thanks in advance

nothing. don;t get an aftermarket intake and expect anything good. jsut buy a cheap ebay one if all she wants an intake. there have been like 187098423 threads with this question.
i would just go with the short ram cause you wont gain much with CAI + you wont have to compensate for water gettin in yer engine. talk to gearbox he has gone thro several intakes. from the info i get from him the K&N Typhoon Short ram intake is the best one he has ever used and using.

best intake I've used is K&N tryphoon SRI. Got it from cardomain.com
Pretty good sound, quieter than most other intakes below 4k, but very noticable. Gives more torque and almost no extra hp. Good for lower rpm driving 1-4.5k
