OMG! I lost a bolt!

Hey guys/girls. Just wondering if anyone knows where (Home Depot or whatnot) I can get a new bolt/washer combination for my Progress Sway bar brackets. I came home today and I was missing a bolt, which resulted in the sway bar making noise when i'd go up inclines. If anyone knows let me know please! I will try to look for it in Progress' website for now. Thanks!

It would help if you told us which bolt you lost. If its metric, and bigger than 12mm don't plan on Home Depot having it. You're probably going to need a specialty fastener store, Honda or some place like Mcmaster carr. The bolts for the bushing brackets are 10mm I think.... they should have them.

I thought it was either a 10mm or 12mm bolt, but I'm not using the OEM bolts because Progress had their own set of bolts that came with the Sway/Tie bar combo. Here's pictures though. Looks like a need a new bracket too because this one bent.

Vantage should not be trusted
once u install the bolt again, it will pull the bracket back into place. measure the length or the other and go to a yard and pick 1 up, if not go to honda and see if they have something similar.

If I were you, I'd remove the bar till you get the new bolt; might end up messing something else up...

Jeff is an unknown quantity at this point
Thats why i replaced mine with all grade 8 bolts and lock tighted them. There was a thread along time ago that gave you sizes on what to buy to replace the cheap bolts progress sent with there kits.

You really think the bracket will bend back with a new bolt? Just wondering. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. I don't exactly know where to get grade 8 bolts, so if anyone just please LMK. I won't be driving around my car for the next few days until I can get all this fixed. Luckily, I have another vehicle to drive.

Boilermaker1 mentioned it before, you can the get the bolts from Mcmaster.com, I just can't remember which size bolts you need though.
Regarding the bent bracket, a vise may help to put it back the way it was.

i think if you put the bolt through the bracket hole, and slowly snug it down, the bracket will unbend itself.

If you still have the OEM bolt, put it back in, if nothing else, it'll hold it. If you have a heat gun, take the bracket off and heat it up and bend it back straighter. I'd be worried about it cracking if it was cold and you bent it back.
You shouldn't need grade 8 hardware, and you can't buy grade 8 metric hardware.
Its on a different scale, and its measured differently. Metric grade 8.8 is standard issue.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I went with a temporary fix and rebent the bracket to fit perfectly onto the bushing again. I did it by using a vice grip and hammer. There was no cracking, and to be honest, the bracket material seems to be very pliable (sp?). I am temporarily using an OEM bracket screw for the missing bolt, and will be heading down to a place later where I can buy stronger screws. The bracket looks normal once again, and I just wanted to thank you guys for your input.
