Will K Motor go down in price?
Just like the H22 with Preludes, Parts became cheaper years after the motor came into exsitence.
Do you guys think that the K series will dramatically decrease with the New Generation civic comming out this fall???
Opinions welcome!

of course older stuff will be cheaper. It will be old technology. and laws say they wont be able to go into any car made after the last day the engine is made. so the people with the money to afford newer vehicles will be playing with other engines. so the when the market has less money you need to adjust prices. also more rsx's will fish tail into buildings with time driving up suply.
stuff like the k20a (ITR) and k20a2 (RSX-S) will go down in price, but not by much. look at the b18cx variants and how they are still fairly expensive compared to a b18b or b16a. k20a3's and k24's have already dropped significantly in price and will probably drop a bit more over the next couple of years. it's just that everyone knows the performance-oriented motors will only become more desirable to tuners as time goes by.

You know it might go down, but it will take a little while for it to actually take effect. The only reason the engine hasnt gone down is because the cars that do have a K-series engine still have low miles on them and people are still drivign them around. Not enough of them have been "Totaled" to effect the price of the engine. So even after the engine comes out it will take a little while 2 maybe 3 years for it to change. Just my $.02
c'mon people you know that b series engines went down when k series came out, even if just a little, they still went down. But I see what you guys mean as well about them still being expensive, but that has to be because there are less and less of them since they're no longer being produced. although, no matter what type r series it is, those will always be valuable
hell yeah man dont trip. Especially legit deals on the streets. My neighbors pick up b16's and h22a's for 200$ like its nothing. Give it a couple yrs and it will level out but dont expect it to be as cheap as a b16 1st gen

the K is the new swap of choice. i dont think its potential has been completely tapped yet. also as honda moves toward the ULEV, the cars are going to get shittier

Predestined obsoletion. Honda makes the engines with the intent of only making a certain number for the market. If they limit the production just right the prices will stay high. So the prices will probably go up in the future for K series when they stop production
They probably will go down some in price but keep in mind.... if you wait long to get it then you lessen your chance of getting one with low milage and usage. It wont be as bad as certain engines though because its fairly new...

with me working at the shop.. prices for GSR motor have gone up and very hard to find.. i remember 1-2 years ago GSR complete GSR motors were going like 1500-2000.. now they started going up... its like 2500+ now for a complete GSR swap..
think about it though.. B series motors are no longer being made... so as more and more racers start coming into the market they get harder to find and prices go up.. also take into consideration that as more and more of these motors are being destroyed by blowing up during racing or what not then thats 1 less motor for the market...
K series is the same way.. right now its being made at full production based on the demand for cars with the K motor in yet... as more and more of these are made they get cheaper and cheaper.. but once hondas stop production to move over to a newer series motor expect prices to start slowly going up.. but it will be a while before we start seeing stuff like this happen

so true...its just time...soon the K series will die down as the "new, huge technology" comes and takes over, but as they decrease over time they're harder to find...
