LOL EP3 Si thought he could out run me
I was getting onto the 805N in San Diego when I was passed by a lowered silver EP hatch with a JDM R body kit/spoiler and "I <3 JDM" sticker on the back. The guy had at least an intake/exhaust and suspension mods, but I digress...
I follow behind him up the on-ramp, and onto the freeway. He takes a position in the fast lane (which is completely clear) and I move in behind him to bypass traffic... I really didn’t have any intentions to "race" at this point BTW.
I was in a hurry and was somewhat late, so I was being a **** and I did ride a bit close in hopes he would move over.
No such luck.
Instead I hear him down shift and get on it.
Now, I could have easily put it in 3rd at the speed we were going, but I didn’t want to rear end the guy. I slipped the shifter into 4th and rolled on the power slowly. At first I was content with staying even with his pull, but after a few seconds I grew bored and depressed the pedal to the floor.
LOL poor guy. I was up his *** pretty quickly, and I had to completely back off the throttle 100% while applying the brakes lightly, as not to run into him. After a little bit of that he moved over, but kept on it... so I too got back on the go pedal. At this point I was above 7K (still 3rd gear terratory) and thus was coming into my power band so I put good 4-5 car lengths on him before shutting down.
He tried to roll his window down and ask me something but that’s a no go on the freeway. I indicated that I was all motor with a piece of paper and pen I had laying next to me. He gave me the thumbs up, & a peace sign.
I then remembered I was really late and boned the hell out of there.
