Friend of mine came back from 48 hours of enduro racing
The following is a copy of Jon's post so this isn’t written from my perspective:
"This weekend Earl & I did something pretty ridiculous.
We attended a two-day HPDE at Willow Springs with a night AutoX in the middle. The plan was to drive the Firebird at the track, and the RX-7 at the AutoX.
Saturday at the track went pretty smoothly. The temperature was in the low 90's, which is pretty cold for Willow Springs this time of year. The car didn't run hot and the power steering held up ok, which was nice considering it had failed twice on previous track days.
We left WSIR at about 3pm and headed down to Cal. Speedway for the AutoX. I was the first car out and had absolutely NO traction. It's really hard to run a decent line when you can barely keep the car pointed in the right direction. I think I finished DFL in class, while Earl won FP in Pat's '88 RX-7 (my times were so slow he didn't even want to drive my car).
Earl was the safety steward for the event, which meant he had to stay all night. While he was doing his stewardly duties, I caught about 5hrs of sleep in his truck. We finally left Fontana at 2:30am, and got back to WSIR around 5am, parked on the entrance road, and fell asleep. At 6:30 we were back in the pits and getting ready to run.
Sunday was fun. I managed to run faster than Saturday with a 1:39.1 (I may have run faster but the times haven't been posted online yet), but my day was cut short when I (badly) corded my left front tire. Oh well, I was planning on replacing the tires after this event anyway.
Earl decided to drive at the track on Sunday, so he drove the RX-7 in the beginner group, where he was held up almost every lap. I think he still managed a 1:46, which is within 5 seconds of the lap record for SCCA Pro-7s at WSIR. Impressive until you realize he was running on racing slicks instead of the class spec tires. What a cheater.
Here are a few interesting pictures. Earl has (I think) all the ones of me on track and hopefully he'll post them soon."

and of course Jon's Firebird of DOOM:

I PROMISE you this guys "old skool" muscle car will completly OWN any one of your cars in the straights OR on a real track with, yes, TURNS.
Oh and his info is from a magazine atricle they did on him. The info is a little old. If you can believe it hes added MORE mawds increasing HP, decreasing his trap speeds and making his car handle better then mine on its best day... on race slicks

of course you can see all of Jon's pics and vids here (there are like 250 of them!)

...including many many 10 second 1/4 mile runs as "real" track days (you know, with turns and stuff).

Also keep in mind most of these older 911s are making a LOT more power then they did when brand new.
i remember watching a top gear episode where they raced a SE gt3 and track version of the 360, with their pro driver behind the wheel. Both cars got the same numbers, it was kinda weird.
Anyways, those 911 spoilers are a little rediculous.

I am the last person that would defend Joe, but he does state the stuff is his friend "Jon's", and not his.
And I recall Jon standing in front of my garage telling me he knew Joe and that he was cool. Of course Diku and I agreed Joe was a doucebag.

OMG Someone stole my pics and videos!!!!
That's me behind the wheel of everyone of those cars. I decided to show my collection and film it! Damn, Joe. I can't believe you're claiming these for yourself!
Here's a picture of me to prove it:

Yea, I know I look like Earnhardt Jr., but he stole my looks.
