Motorcycle: hp and torque mesurement
For a motorcycle engine, are the claimed hp and torque numbers measured at the crank and before the transmission, right? Specifically, its the Yamaha FZ6 engine that is rated at 98 hp at 12k rpm and 47 lb-ft at 10k rpm. Cuz someone told me the numbers are measured at the rear wheel, and I didnt believe him. Thanks.

the percentage of power lost in a bike is prob only 5% if not then lower. You got to take into account the weight of the rider and bike.
