the 'name that car' game

the 'name that car' game
well, its not really a game 
ok, so yesterday, my friend told me that she saw a car that:
1) looked like a porsche
2) had v8 badges
3) had a 'crown' emblem.
now, for some reason, i cant think of any car that would match that description. i guess my finals turned my brain into mush
you guys know what kinda car it is?
oh, and the other day, i saw a porche driving around. it was pretty old, and from the doors back, it looked like a del sol (i mean the styling. it looked like the roof was cut off or something. know what i mean? that unique del sol style where from the doors back it looks like theres supposed to be a roof or something) what kind of porche is that?
well, summer just started for me, so that means im gonna be on here 24/7!

this game sucks, how about this... post a photo of a car that doesnt really give out its identity and have someone guess what vehicle it is or came from.

I believe the del sol looking Porsche your referring to is a 914. It was Porsche's attempt at a budget car. Their were V8 Porsches in the 80's, 928's I believe, but I don't think they had V8 badges. Based on the crown description I would go with Maserati as someone else mentioned before.
