Angry I have an AC noise too

Every time i turn on my AC i hear a grinding noise. Its deffinately coming from the compressor. its not very loud, but i dont want to keep using my AC in case it will do permanent damage since it still blows cold air. I checked the system pressure, and it was right where it was supposed to be, so its not low on coolant. I dont know whats wrong, and i dont want to take it to the dealer because its not under warranty. All info is appreciated.

why would it not be under warranty? if you have the warranty go get your money's worth, and if they don't honor it then get a lawyer

If you hear a grinding noise coming from the compressor, and the AC still works, then tyou need to replace the compressor. Compressors do become noisy, just like engines. Internal parts wear out.

i have the same problem with my 01 lx as well, but its not constant...

only when i get out of a dead stop or highends it sometimes makes a whinning noise like mice are having a orgy under my hood... but i have noticed lately whenever i have the a/c on the car losses massive speed and acceleration.

literally you can hold the gas pedal down and the car feels like youre stuck in neutral for like 3 seconds before it kicks back in again, are you having these same symptoms as well?? hope its nothing big.
