Tsi Turbo Kit and Cel light on
Tsi Turbo Kit and Cel light on
Hello,
Just installed the tsi turbo kit on my honda civic 2001 lx. Works great. Still need to get it tuned. But since the "cel" light is on it was recommended that I get that checked first before tuning it. Is this true? Also do u guys think the "cel" light is on because the 2nd o2 sensor is just connected to the test pipe w/o a cat converter?
Thanks for your help!!

you more than likely need to get an O2 simulator.. i'm not turbo'd, but i think you do have to get one to get rid of the cel..

if your CEL is turning on that fast something is not right. My CEL with the TSI extreme kit only kicks on when i'm pushing really hard. Its normall the 2nd 02 sensor acting up then but it goes off on its own atleast it has for me
^^they had a deal around father's day one for $60, i should have got one lol
But yes, get an 02 sim or a CEL eliminator so you wont have to worry about that, and you do want to get it turned off before you tune because it'll throw your fuel/air maps into a mess that wont be good when boosting.

Hello,
Thanks for all the info. Do appreciate it!! I found out why the CEL was on. My air temp. sensor was not connected. I just had the car tuned and runs great!!

nice^^ Glad you like it. TSI makes a nice kit with nice power, huh? I loved my kit. Its off the car as of today though. I drained my oil last night, so the last part to take off is my manifold (after my oil filter).
You will have a lot of fun with this kit, and blow some cars away that would never expect it. What numbers did you make??
Peace

and yes, it is DEFINATELY the reason the CEL is on. Either get a hi flow cat and weld a bung after it, or get a MIL eliminator. Either one will work. I recommend the cat, but thats just me wanting to be legal.
