Golden Eagle sucks (sleeving the D17)
I took my motor to Golden Eagle about 2.5 months ago to have it sleeved. They told me 1 week. Well to put a long story short, 1 week turned into 2 weeks. 2 weeks turned into a month. A month turned into 2 months. And so on. So after them telling me that it was almost done, only needed to be finished, i let them know that if i didnt have an exact date on when it would be done, i would report the block, my pistons, and my rods stolen. And then tell them right where they were.
Needless to say i now have my completely stock (UNTOUCHED) block back. It is already on its way to RS to have a different set of sleeves installed. They guaranteed me 5-7 business days. So hopefully within the next week and a half i will finally have the block back.

there is just something these days in general with aftermarket MFG and retail/service shops. THEY TAKE FOREVER AND ALWAYS BEAT AROUND THE BUSH!!
yea a lot of companies are dicks....I bent a rim back in january and bought 1 replacement through Rev wheels, the company itself, and never received a rim or money back. Well on Tuesday of this week, i finally got my money back...6 months later...makes me weird about buying from places now
Check with Earl Lasky. He has Dan Benson do sleeving and they are awesome. Quick turnaround too. www.laskeyracing.com

I agree, many shops up here in the NE nowadays have problems keeping up with the demand during race season. Seems like it gets worse and worse every year because there are really only a hand full of people that really know what they're doing and can complete installs the right way and get the power out of the car that it should have. The guy I use if I need something done has a two to three month wait depending on what you need....
And as Kevin has seen, there are some shadddddddddddy shops out there....

I didnt put down a deposit. i took it to them because they said they would have it done in 1 week.
I know about benson sleeves. They were my original choice, but these shops are a lot closer to me. And they are supposed to be very good quality. I saw an RS sleeved GSR block, and it turned out very nice.
