Tranny
Tranny
Dunno if this is the right place, but i was just curious about the integrity of the auto trans on the d17. I want my car to last a long time. I get on the throttle every now and then, dont really race it. Does anybody have a clue how long these things will really last or are they just junk ?

If you don't abuse the tranny and change the fluid every 15 to 20k, it should last a long time. Maintenance never hurts. Just don't drive like you own a racecar, cause you don't, and it isn't. In hot climates or for added insurance, install a transmission oil cooler.

listen its like the honda engine, if you change the oil, do the maintenance it should last a pretty damn long time. 95 vic auto with 200k on it, still runs hard. no tranny or engine problems
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

well the auto on the 01+'s is known to be WEAK!
do not abuse it at all. mine has 58,000 miles and at 50,000 i had the fluid changed. it was much much better. every once in a while i get rough shifts and stuff but nothing bad.
i may need to change the grounds in the car to something beefier but for now i am saving for seats, lambo doors, or something else to blow my money on; not that

reving it up to redline in neutral then dropping it into drive to try and get the tires to squeel, if u have a tacho theres a much better way to launch.....but it's an auto, dont race it
