Cam/Spark Timing questions
is there any other way to adjust spark timing ive always wanted to go this, i was thinking about buying those coil pakcs but there so expensive, do the stupid piggyback ecus like venom and jet dont adjust that do they ? can emanage or aem ems change rev limit aswell? what else can ?

it may affect a lil bit but probably nothing that would either be predictable, noticable, or beneficial. I believe our stock ECU uses both the cam and crank sensor to determine optimal ignition advance. I may be wrong on this though. I dont ever have to worry because Im running my cam straight up and running an ems lol. I know It may seem like our ignition systems suck but believe me they work SOOOOO much better than coil/distributor ignitions. Between that and the iridiums that come in our cars, once you have some adjustablity you dont need anything else.
cam gear..
..have succesfully installed and run AEM cam gears on 03-05 Civics here, and yes, ignition timing changes by itself, in relation to the advance or retard of the cam gear. Anyone else tried this and got results?
yehni got a cam gear advanced 3 degrees with stock cam it made a big difference in low end power but i lsot like 5mph off the top speed before i would go 135mph now i can only go 130 but it was worth it i got alot more torque, i dont know anything about the ignition timing though

Ignition timing is run off of the cam angle sensor which is also referenced against the crank angle sensor which tells the ECU exactly where the motor is at any point in time. The cam angle sensor determines which cylinder fires and and what time.
Definitely..

..but for some ppl, dyno isn't an option, so just lending my experience.

are you sure about that argus, when you retard it supposed to give you more horsepower and less low end toque, or when you got boost, you get more topspeed aswell when you retard but less low end power which is what i want thats why i advanced it
sure man..
