Question Intake Question?

I want to buy a short ram intake, but I was just wondering if this will effect my gas mileage in a negative way or a positive way? or just do nothing.

Thanks.

if anything it will increase gas mileage. SRI's don't do much for performance, except for maybe the AEM V2.

So then whats the point of the SRI should I just go with a cold air the thing is I've heard stories that they are bad if they get wet, and plus I have to be able to drive my car in the winter so I think i CAI would be bad, do you have any advice, honestly dont care too much about performance though I do want some, but I really like the noise that intakes make.

i would go with the AEM V2 then. it supposedly gives the most performance and it is a SRI design. i believe it sounds cool too, though i haven't heard it myself. it seems to be the most popular SRI. either the AEM V2 or the K&N FIPK.

if you just want the noise, get one off of ebay. They dont give you performance anyways. I actually thought I noticed a better gain with my ebay sri, over my cai. But, you wont get any performance out of it, maybe 1 hp, but that 1hp will be taken away from your low end. JMO. But ebay is the best priced, especially if you just want the sound.

then again, buying those ebay ones are quite risky. you never know what could happen, missing nut, gasket, bolt, etc. really depends on seller and the feedbacks.

if going with a reptuable brand like K&N, aem, injen, etc, your pretty much paying for looks, quality fitment, and warranty. if having those 3 is worth about $50-100 more, shoot for it. intakes are cheap as is (exclude CAI).
