Talking Need help PLEASE (Lowering my car)

Can anyone tell me what is a safe drop for a 2002 civic ex coupe. My rim size will be 215/40/18. I dont want my car to be hitting the top of the wheel well. And I still want it decently compfortable. Please leave me your tire and rim size + drop hieght so I can have a look. Thanks

Low profile tires on compressed shocks = bad ride.

My car was on 17's with a 1.5" drop, and there is a definite degredation to ride quality. I cant imagine even skinnier tires or a bigger drop.

dont just get springs, its a waste of money, get at least tokico blues if your going to drop more than an inch or so or your ride will be crap and you will eventualy blow the shocks, especialy on like a 2" drop. no reason to get springs w/o shocks anyways unless its just a show car... ick.

The tire speed rating makes a difference also. If you get Z rated tire, the sidewall will be stiffer versus an H rated tire. I had Z rated and then bought some Kumho 711's which are H rated and it made a big difference.

yep I got a 2 inch drop and damn I should have thought about shocks before anything. Now I have two rear shocks blown out and I look like an idiot bouncing down the street... it isn't so bad but still the handling sucks, also w/ the blown out shocks the rears sits lower than the front... unless I take out my speaker box.
