Alright, i need some help
Alright, i have been dealing with this minor problem for 1 yr now and i can't stand it anymore. I have a problem with my car wanting to stall out. The only time it does this is when i start the car and then drive. It doesn't matter if the engine is cold or not. Now, it does not do this all the time, only on occasion.......but can be quite often. It will do it even if i don't reach boost.
The engine RPM's will drop real low then suddenly rise back up then drop again, almost to the point where it wants to stall. It will do this for about 15-20 sec or so, then all will be fine.
I have no problem reaching boost. When driving down the road and it starts to stall, i turn off the key and restart the car, the problem goes away. After doing that, i reach full boost twice as fast as normal and will exceed my preset boost level by 2-3 lbs.
I checked all pipes, hoses, changed filter in ML and re-installed it to make sure it was done right. I also do not have my IAT sensor installed in the charge pipe, it is tied off. I do have a CEL and it seems to wanna stall when the CEL is on. During the winter when it is really cold out, i didn't have the problem with this and i also rarely got a CEL, not until i drove awhile and the engine bay got hotter. Now that the weather is warmer, this is happening alot and i have a constant CEL.
I was thinking that it could be a bad ML or due to the fact that my IAT sensor is not properly installed. I am just curious if anyone else has this problem ???

its your IAT sensor. It needs to have the reading of the air temp going into the TB. Trust me on this. I had my IAT connected an I naver had a problem. The winter keeps enginebay temps down so you get better idle and no CEL. The sensor thinks it's reading correct air temp. Warm weather means hotter engine bay temps and rough idle and CEL's, so the sensor is getting confusedadid.
Just try it connected. What can go wrong? LOL. The ECu needs an accurate reading of temp for timing...etc....

When I put my intake on (very first mod to any cars Ive owned) I forgot to put it in. It was driving like ***, wanted to stall, was shaky, it sucked. Just need to throw that in there, it should be fine.
I drilled my hole slightly too big, and sometimes under boost, it pushes it out like half an inch, and my temp says like 3/4 hot, when its usually around 1/4 of the way up. than my car drives like sh**. Its reading the plastic coupler thing going to the IMs temp.
^^probably didnt think about it because charge piping doesnt come with a pre-drilled hole for the IAT...
definately go get a rubber gromet (off an intake if you had one before turobing) and drill a hole..your problem should be fixed

Anyway, i thought about using a grommet, but was afraid it would blow out. I might tap the charge pipe and thread the sensor and screw it in.
Smuggling bananas and mexicans all for one low price...
