Info On Head and Cam Work
Now that a few companies, like Gude, Crower, and DH-Racing have been making the Head Packages for our Civics, I would like to know if there are any problems with any one who has the work done. I have searched and found a bunch of general info, but really nothing that was too helpful, mainly because the threads I found were all from last year when these companies didn't have anything out yet. I also called Gude and spoke to Bill, he told me that right now they are having a "deal". For $1450 and the $500 refundable core charge, they will send you the package then you send your old one back. He also told me this package gives us about 170HP and I forget the Torque (woops). I also looked up Crower, and found nothing for our D17's at all, at least not on thier website. DH-Racing has a fews things for our D17's but I haven't called them yet for any information. The problem I'm having is that when I search for stuff on here, I find more useless information and people arguing about stuff than I do the stuff I'm actually looking for. I'm looking to build a full N/A motor and those numbers sound good, but do you think they are true? If we can get enough usefull information maybe someone can make a sticky for this topic. Unless it's already done somewhere, but I didn't catch it. Ok, let me know what you guys know, and remember, useful information, please!

Thanks though!
I haven't been into much of the internal engine work yet... but now that I'm done with bolt-ons and making more money, I'd like to get more into the engine, literally.

Yes I've dealt with dh if you can call it that. Me and 30 others bought their crank pulley for almost $200 and nobody could get it to fit. The one guy who pounded it on with a hammer had the battery light come on 2 mins later. Yea that's over $5000 they stole from our site. Then I was also stupid and sent my head for port and polish for $740. Well they did an okay job I guess, not great, but alot better than what other people got. Now my idle is messed up and I maybe gained 5hp if that.

i believe exospeed does pnp head work as does kms. Someone here had good results with kms for ported head work. Crower is reseasing new cams very soon.

What kind of gains do you think a N/A engine would get with the work that some of these companies have to offer?

Don't waste your time and money. AT MOST, you'll gain 15 with a pnp and cam, unless you are serious about building the motor and about spending big bucks.
