I dont understand why people say that lowering a car will cause the struts to go bad. Its not the lowering that causes it. Its the the PI$$ poor quality struts they put on cars stock!

Anyways, I don't understand whats up with the "GC ride sucks". It seems fine to me.
1. Don't expect a progressive ride out of straight rate springs.
2. Don't expect a stock ride out of something 3 times as stiff.
They don't ride any different than any other coilovers I've experienced
it wont be THAT bad, but eventually (depends on driving habits and conditions), your stock shocks will wear away resulting in shitty ride quality.
as for being GCs, im sure its just like any other sleeve coilover. i rode on skunk2s for the first few months and it was ok... but months later, ride was getting shittier. and i was on 195/60/15 tires which isnt low pro at all.
if you still go with GCs, keep in mind they have 2 different sets. one meant for stock shocks and one meant for koni yellows. check out www.importhorizon.com
btw, dont go with skunk2...had problems such as clanking noise on the fronts, adjusting the coils on the perch is difficult, and GC > Skunk2 as for sleeved coilovers.

Well... If you get them, start saving for some shocks now.
If your trying to make the car handle better, Your better off starting with dampers (shocks) 1st and springs 2nd... Simply because the car is under dampered from the factory and if you throw a set of springs on there that Triple the spring rate... You end up with a car that is SEVERLY under dampered.

you will have a bumpy a$$ ride if you stick coilovers on your stock shocks and they will go out hella fast. i do not know why but the rear seem to go first. i think you would rather go with springs that drop it 2"
GC coilovers
I had a set with my factory shocks for a year before the rear went out. But then again i also had them all the way down including modifying purch to allow for more adjustments.I never had a problem with them being bumpy though. The thing i didn't like was because they make a sleeve for the factory and 1 for the aftermarket, you can't change your mind later and but aftermarket shocks and expect them to work on the factory GC coilover sleeve. You have to buy the whole new set.
i have ground control coilovers with the stock strut and have driven on for about 2 years and i am just startin to need some new struts. it wont get bad in such a short time. so lower now and you could hold out for new struts. i am just now startin to look for struts myself
