did i get shafted?
did i get shafted?
alright so i bought a t25 turbo off ebay
it was from a sr20det
the dude said it spools up fine and has no shaft play so i went for it since it was like only 100 bucks and there was like 30 mins left.
i just got it yesterday and i took a look at it
this is my first time ever handling a turbo so i dont know the condition of it

also i want to know what these are for

one of those for the wastgate? i think this one is supposed to be internally gated but it was taken off, if it is internal it is possible to use it with an external one?
also im guessing these would be where the oil lines go

which is in and return?
wat goes here?

one more thing
when i try spinning the turbine with my hand it moves but it seems a little stiff. is it supposed to spin freely?
please help out a noob with boosted dreams.

check if is there in and out shaft play. side to side is normal but excessive side to side is not normal. the turbo seems like is for external wastegate to me. the link below should help you a lot. http://www.beesandgoats.com/boostfaq...rbo.html#Turbo

This is the oil inlet fitting.

This is the oil drain.

Those are for the wastegate actuator vacuum lines.
wat goes here?

That is for the external wastegate flapper door. The wastegate bolts to the back of the housing.

the two eliptical places with the three holes, on with a square in the middle is for the oil feed and return. the little nipple things with the cube on them, are for the wastegate, well one is im not sure what the other ones purpose is, AND WHY DID U TAKE IT APART.

How much do you think it will cost for you to overhaul the turbo? You should look into that...cuz for $100 bucks for a turbo...maybe an overhaul will do it good and would cost less than getting a new one. Good Luck dann
