Missing link or e-manage
Ok people keep confusing me, so I plan on using e-manage with my turbo setup does this mean I still need to use the missing link or not? I want to run 9 psi when I race so could someone clarify this for me

Now I've done my research but what is a voltage clamp and where can I get one and where does it go to. Sorry about this but I had no idea that we need to use a voltage clamp with the emanage when we don't use a missing link.

a ML is just a check valve. It keeps the stock map sensor from seeing boost. Our cars work off of vaccum, if the map sensor senses boost, then it will go apeshit and will kick into limp mode.

yeah, they do the same thing, but emanage probably works for higher boost. not too sure, but Ive heard about the 10psi thing with the ml a few times before. I like TSIs, it is sort of like a vtec kicking in......on a lx, lol. But that could be what broke my tranny mount. The tranny's off center by like an inch with rubber all around it cracked in about 4 spots, rubber hanging out, its sad.
I have the tsi black box and a safc2. I am getting a high voltage code in the car whenever i hit boost. what could be the problem? the "black box" is a ml right? was it not installed correctly? would love some help

anybody??

To put it quite simply it limits the voltage the ECU sees over and above what you set it at. For example, if you clamp it @ 3V, the ECU nevers sees anymore voltage than 3V, which means the car never sees more than 60% throttle, hence you can program custom fuel curves from that point on. Remember you ALSO have to accomodate for normal driving because your not allowing the ECU to use it's already pre-programmed WOT or higher levels of throttle fuel maps.

Because, as Dezod said: 3.0V is for 60% throttle, and 2.95V is at Wide Open?
