k20a2 or turbo d17
I know there is another thread about it but my situation is different.
I road in my friend's 95 hatch w/ 205.4 horsepower and I decided I want more power.
I don't know if I want to swap or get a new d17a2 w/ turbo. My car has 180,000 miles on it and I know i can't turbo it without the motor screwing up soon.
What do you guys think?

Swap in a new motor, one that you know will not break for a while. You'll get a good dose of power, and keep some level of reliability.
Boosting an NA motor should be left to the very rich and the pro's. Lots of factors to watch every time you drive, and that's not what you need for a daily.

180,000 miles on a 2001? damn, and I thought I drove alot. Yeah, swap a new motor, and either boost, or k20a2 instead of swapping the same one. I would do the k20a2, since it would be about the same price or maybe cheaper, I dunno. But you can always boost that motor and gain that much more HP than a D17. I just boosted my D17 last week. I have 92,000 miles. Its running very nicely with it so far, but 20,000 miles down the line, we'll see. I can always swap out for a lower mileage motor, and build of some of my blown one.
K20 it and then turbo or supercharge it that would be sweet your motor would die the second you floored it with a turbo on that many miles. How the hell did you get so many miles and so fast?

NA IS BEST!
what i'd love to see is a totaly worked out D17 NA. Reving to 10k bored out, ITB, 13.1 compression, i'd give all the props in the world to the guy that does that. I love seeing little motors that put out alot of power, me i don't have the money/time/talent to do it.
