TEIN FLEX finally done.
ok guys welll...i finally got all the TEIN on and remanufactured and EDFC installed
rear install=they had to send rear bottoms back to japan to be remachined to narrow the bushing(apparently FERIO's have wider rear under bushings... the reduced the size 4.8mm)
but now they fit and max drop is about 5/8" too low for me.. which is a good thing... ima raise her after settling
the fronts: max drop is about 2.5" actual... but i am going to remove 2 of the 3 perches to lower the ride height in front .5" of course after settling so i can make sure its not gonna lower more..
Pillowball mounts cause extreme road noise on rough roads...im going to try and put 2-3 sheets of tarmat on top of the pillowmounts inbetween car to maybe absorb some vibrations...
the Spring rates are extremely stiff and i think i might buy some 8/10 to replace the OE 12/14 that come w/ the coilovers... even on 16(softest EDFC setting) thew ride is somewhat harsh.... its smooth w/ less jerkyness... but when the road height drops (i.e. i was going 90 on a tollroad and the road height after a bridge dropped approx 8" i was airborn literally for 5-10ft. kinda fun but everything in my car was airborn too... )
the alignment does not want to center up (1/2" toe in min.) but i then adjusted the pillow mounts to center (0) and theni was 5/8" tow out... which i took back to align shop and got her aligned 3/16 toe in so it rides nice.. my camber in front is still negative 1.6/1.7 (more on right so that car drives straight(roads angle to right i digress)
so in a nut shell you can still run neg camber w/ perfect toe... its very adjustable the alignment guys were in awe of all the adjustments
ride height ranges from the max drops^^^ to actually above oem height..
you can even raise 3" higher than oem(maybe if you were in a snowy area and wanted a 4x4 for winter it would eb helpful, this requires maximizing height and then minimizing preload.
the sring rates as stated are 12/14 but at fully firm... she rides like a go kart=very sexy imo.. its nice and then at soft she rides... like tein SS..
one last thing. but you cannot purchase this kit until they recall all sent to cali and remanufacture the rear bushings...approx time of sale=august/september.
hope this helps all of you AutoX peeps and people like me who just lke tohave fun on the road.. i will post pictures once i raise rear/lower front and get my new 8/10 springs.
riley
BTW EDFC cleared hood fine on the new and improved ES1/EM2 fronts and rear EDFC is perfect as well...
