Should I fight it?

I was driving in Massachusetts the other day. I was coming around a turn and there was a police officer driving the opposite direction. After I passed him, he slowed, turned around, and pulled me over. He game me a $210 dollar ticket and claimed that I was going 56 in a 35. Is this worth fighting, or should I just pay the fine?

Did you ask him how he knew how fast you were going?

If it wasnt on radar and it was estimated, fight it. If you were on lazer, you could pay, or youd have to take a day off work and come back to MA. I'm in MA and i've fought a few and had them cut down, but still got points. Theyve been gentle one me though. Ha Ha

As I said before, both Estimated and Radar are checked off. It also has Civil Infractions checked, nothing about being a criminial case

i never knew police are desperate enough to radar oncomming traffic =/
isnt that kind of dangerous cause you got one hand on the lazer and other on wheel iuno man. if its got lazer, radar or anyone like that written on it, its gonna be hard to fight.

goodluck man

is it possible to radar while your driving one way and the other car is driving another way, wouldn't the radar be off because both cars are moving?

the same thing happend to my bro he was caught goin 60 in a 45 and the cop that nailed him was comin from the opposite direction, he let my bro off with a warning, but i would state your case to the judge, after all they cant give you a worse ticket so i would atleast ask questions so you know for the record.

any idea how that radar works like that? im thinking: if the officer unit vehicle is moving 25mph and a vehicle from oncomming traffic is moving 25mph, wouldnt the radar read it as 50mph? cause the radar is in motion and when that oncomming vehicle zooms by at 25mph, the radar would read it as 50.

if the radar is controlled and connected into any part of the car, then i can understand. maybe im thinking they use the same radar guns those bike officers use

they have the guns mounted on the dash and it is connected to the spedo. a computer in the car then figures out how fast you were goin.

no they wouldnt be off, the radar would still accurately measure the target vehicles speed and display the speed. most radar units are so advanced now that if the target vehicle is traveling within a few mph of the cruisers speed it wont display the target vehicles speed. this is why the calibration is checked so often to ensure reliability, and yes, you can measure the speed of vehicles moving in the opposite direction of you.
